1. Passport Application Form: This can be obtained via government official site Passportindia.gov . Visit this site and click on ‘Register Now’ link on the homepage.  Provide all the details; Passport office (This will be the center passport office of your respective state, e.g: If you are from Karnataka then this will be Bengaluru),  Name, DOB, login id & password.  E-mail confirmation link will be sent to your registered mail id. Confirm the registration through email and then login to the portal.
  2. Click on Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport link.  You can fill the application online or can download it to fill manually. Provide all the details in the form and submit. Submit the online application or upload scanned filled application form to your profile. If you are filling it manually then keep these things in mind before filling the form.

    • Use capital letters only. Particulars given in the form will be printed in the passport. Therefore, please be careful in filling up the form and avoid any mistakes.
    • While filling up the boxes, kindly leave one box blank after each completed word.
    • Adjust the information to fit within the number of given boxes.
    • Incomplete application will not be accepted.
  3. Click the Pay and Schedule Appointment link on the “View Saved/Submitted Applications” screen to schedule an appointment.
    Pay online which confirms your appointment.
  4. Visit the Passport Seva Kendra or regional passport office on the scheduled date and time along with required documents. Carry Print out of Appointment confirmation, one Address proof, Identity proof, Adhar card, birth certificate or SSLC marks card and passport size photographs.
  5. Once you reach the center take token and wait for your call. Executives will verify Original documents and confirms about the application.
  6. Once after the verification of application,  there will be Police verification which may take approximately 1 month of time from the date of appointment.
  7. Police verification includes personal and background check. Once this is cleared Passport will be received via Post within 3 weeks of time.
